Our Xmas Tree 2007!

We were having my youngest sister, Yuriko, over as a guest at our place lately (from Nov. 23rd to Dec. 3rd).
As we had planned to have two big home parties at our place on Dec. 1st and Dec. 8th (one for Michiko's Japanese class students and the other for Amar's research group students), we thought it would be nice to have a Christmas tree in our house before these parties, and that it would be also a neat experience for Yuriko to go and choose a real Christmas tree (which almost never happens in Japan!) and decorate it.

So we went to May's Greenhouse (one of the best garden centers in town) on Friday prior to the first party, and chose a very tall Christmas tree with very soft, tender needles, called "Fraser Fir Tree". There were other kinds of trees which are cheaper (about half a price of Fraser Fir), but Amar wanted a Fraser Fir, because he remembered that the tree we got last year ended up with really dry, hard needles and it was quite a trouble to move it out of the house (it is very painful when all the tree needles attack you, you know!).

Yuriko standing among the big trees --- the trees looked even taller when she stood among them!

And decorating it...
